Black Tea

This tea from the Mokalbari estate of the Assam region of India has a wonderful depth of flavour and a rich, dark colour. It is a prime example of the cherished and classic Assam tea flavours, with deep malt tones and a crisp fresh taste.

The Castleton Estate is a renowned plantation in the south of Darjeeling which has become famous for its second flush picking. The tea has a delightful golden colour and a classic Darjeeling taste. Soft floral tones reminiscent of sweet muscat wine.

Dried at extra high temperatures, this Malawi tea has intriguing complex flavours. The enormous leaves infuse hints of fruity raisins and rich tannins, making this tea more akin to a Celyon. A delectable light African tea.

This Ceylon tea comes from the Pettiagalla estate in the Dimbula region in the south west of Sri Lanka. It is a dark amber in colour and has the classic smooth, mildly citrus, Ceylon flavour. Produced in the "orthodox" style with large leaves (classified as Orange Pekoe size) it is a refreshing tea with a long and elegant finish.

Keemun has a wonderful fresh fruits aroma and a gentle taste with hints of sweet orchid flowers and softly smoking cinders. It is a black tea that is naturally low in caffeine so this superb tea can be enjoyed deep into the evening.

This is a rare orthodox African tea with a golden amber colour and a fragrance reminiscent of fruity Ceylons. Produced high on the slopes of Mount Kenya (up to 5500ft), the Malaika plantation has produced a high quality tea, with a soft malty taste.

The teas of the Darjeeling region are often known as the "champagne of teas". They are prized for their lighter tastes and fruity aromas. The Margaret's Hope Estate is over 140 years old and produces some of the most popular Darjeeling teas. This tea is picked in early June (2nd flush) and has all the wonderful Darjeeling flavours.

A rich, full bodied, delicious Assam. From the northern Margherita region, this tea is graded Golden Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe. The broken leaves yield a dark and intense glorious flavour. The fragrance has hints of malt and freshly cut leaves.

A wonderful, intense, first flush, Darjeeling tea with a beautiful and delicate floral bouquet. The taste is clean and fresh with a subtle zesty tone. A classic first flush.

This blend of Ceylon and Darjeeling black teas was made especially in honour of Queen Elizabeth II. It is a perfect breakfast tea, combining the floral aromas of Darjeeling with the richness and strength of Ceylon. It can be taken with milk, lemon or savoured on its own.

An extravagant China Yunnan tea (also called dian hong tea). Classified as a golden flowery orange pekoe (GFOP) it has an exquisite, mildly earthy, sweet taste and a brassy orange colour.
