Tarry Souchong

This is one of the most astounding smoky teas available. It is slightly richer than the classic Lapsang Souchong, with a smoked wood flavour that joins with the rich tea tastes. This marriage creates a remarkable union of flavours.

"Souchong" refers to the size of the leaf, being broader than the pekoe size. The souchong leaves are first withered over open pine or cedar wood fires and then dried and rolled. The tea is then matured in cloth-covered barrels before being smoked a second time.
