A traditional “masala chai” with cardamom, ginger and vanilla flavours. A wonderfully warming and revitalising chai usually drunk with both milk and sugar.
Some methods of preparing traditional chai use equal amounts of milk and water, mixed and heated to boiling point before being added to the tea. There is no agreement on what key spices are needed to make chai. Different regions and even families have their own versions. This vanilla chai is an excellent example of masala chai.
