Gunpowder

Each green tea leaf in Gunpowder tea is rolled into a small tight pellet that has a silky sheen when fresh. It has an clean sharp taste and is a very refreshing green tea. Mint or other herbs are often added to complement the flavour (it is simply delicious with Moroccan mint added).

Gunpowder tea is thought to originate from the Zhejiang Province of China, although it is now produced in other areas such as Taiwan and Sri Lanka. The unusual English name for this tea is considered to come from the similarity of the small pellets to the gunpowder pellets used in cannons.
