This is a rare orthodox African tea with a golden amber colour and a fragrance reminiscent of fruity Ceylons. Produced high on the slopes of Mount Kenya (up to 5500ft), the Malaika plantation has produced a high quality tea, with a soft malty taste.
The altitude is likely to have played an important role in the intriguing characteristics of this orthodox tea and in its similarities with high altitude Ceylons. The subtle fruity notes and the light amber colour make this an exceedingly satisfying tea.
